By holding your own space as sacred.
With deep respect and love for every seeker walking this path — A Gentle Reminder for All Those Exploring Kundalini & Chakras
In today’s world, there’s a lot of conversation around Kundalini awakenings, chakra balancing, and sudden bursts of energy that people call “activations.” It’s beautiful that so many are yearning to go deeper. But I want to offer a gentle reminder, especially for beginners:
This path is ancient, sacred, and incredibly powerful — but it is not just about energy, chakras, or sitting quietly to meditate.
Before we even begin to try “awakening” something, we must first prepare the vessel — our body, mind, heart, and inner understanding. Without this foundation, any rise in energy can be confusing, destabilizing, or even harmful.
Here’s where beginners should start — not as rules, but as seeds of deeper grounding:
1. Study the Roots Before Chasing the Fruit
Begin with timeless wisdom like the Bhagavad Gita, the Yoga Sutras, or other classical wisdom texts which teach us how the mind works, what our natural duties to ourselves (self-care) and our communities (service) are, and how to live a life aligned with dharma (cultivation of awareness).
Learn about Shiva & Shakti — the Adiyogi, the first yogi — and His own Kundalini — the Force to His Source. They aren’t just deities, but living cosmic resonance and sciences of transformation. Understand the original context of these teachings.
2. Purify the Body-mind Through Yogic Discipline and spiritual practice. Yoga is not just stretching. It’s a science of aligning the body and energy systems of the subtle body with Nature herself. Start with simple asanas, work with awareness. Pranayama (breathwork) should only come after the body is stable, food is clean, and the mind is somewhat settled. Fasting can help break compulsions and bring the body into a state of receptivity.
3. Understand the Nadis (channels and plexuses) Before You Touch the Chakras. The energy doesn’t move just because we want it to. There are 72,000 nadis — subtle energy channels — and unless there is clarity, purity, and preparation, the prana (life force) cannot move where it’s meant to.
4. Focus on Inner Stillness, Not Outer Signs
Spiritual growth is not about shaking, visions, or light shows. It’s about becoming more stable, more joyful, more compassionate, and more clear — day by day. It’s about developing insight on the light of consciousness.
5. Watch What You Consume — Not Just Food, But Thoughts
Your diet, your speech, the company you keep, the content you consume — everything shapes your energy. If you want clarity, choose sattvic (pure) influences wherever possible. Check your stimulation level. There’s a great program in the Library to get you started.
6. Be Patient — This Is a Lifelong Journey
The awakening of Kundalini is not a weekend workshop. It’s a sacred process that unfolds naturally when you are deeply prepared. Force is not the way. Surrender and discipline are.
